All jury rules in NevadaNevada's juror fee under NRS 6.150 is $65 a day, but it begins on the third day of jury selection, or on the day you are sworn in if that comes sooner; the first two days of selection are unpaid for anyone not sworn. NRS 6.190 does not make employers pay wages, yet it forbids forcing you to use sick leave or vacation and limits work around your service, and you should give the employer notice at least 3 days before reporting. People 70 or over may ask by affidavit to be excused from all service, as may those 65 or older living 65 miles or more from the court (NRS 6.020). In Clark County, service ends the first day if you are not assigned to a panel or selected, sworn jurors sit for the trial (3 to 5 days on average), and you are not called again for at least 18 months. Without good cause, a no-show faces contempt and a fine of up to $500 under NRS 6.040.

Why the first Nevada days may pay nothing
The Nevada fee schedule rewards the jurors who end up hearing a case. During selection, days one and two carry no fee; pay of $65 a day starts on day three, or immediately once you are sworn as a juror. In Clark County, a juror not assigned to a panel or selected on the first day is finished that day, and so earns no fee. Mileage at 36.5 cents per mile applies only when your home is at least 30 miles from the courthouse, one way. Set the calculator to five days to see how the total builds once the fee starts.
Rest-time protection for Nevada workers
Nevada adds a practical shield for shift workers. Under NRS 6.190 your employer cannot require you to work within 8 hours before the time you must report to court. If you serve 4 hours or more on a given day, the employer also cannot make you work that evening. It may not force you to spend sick leave or vacation either. The law expects notice from you: the summons includes a notice for your employer, and it should reach them at least 3 days before you report. In Clark County, a deferral is requested through the online jury questionnaire, with supporting documents sent afterwards by email.
